At a very basic level, it’s a steel sports watch made by one of the most well known watch brands in the world at a price point that’s attainable and a size many people find wearable (perhaps slightly more so in mainstream consumers than us watch nerds). Today is my two-week-old Omega Seamaster Diver 300m Master Chronometer. The good it fits better than its size suggests It is a really tight package from a design standpoint The finishing is truly excellent METAS, and the online portal, is a super cool standard The Seamaster 300m is (IMO) unquestionably the best value in all of horology that can be bought new (not considering resale). Being that it is still regularly discounted 5-20%, there is no way in hell this should be a 00-5000 watch brand new with warranty.
I love the heritage SM300, it’s such an underrated watch in the Omega lineup. I would definitely buy it on bracelet though, I thought the leather strap felt cheap relative to the quality of the watch itself. I just bought a new seamaster and on the first day I got it it was +4. How accurate is it supposed to be? I’ve seen people saying their metas movements lose less than a second a day over many weeks so I’m just concerned. Over the weekend I picked up a new blue Seamaster 300M on rubber strap. The blue ceramic dial and bezel is absolutely striking and a true chameleon in that it changes tone based on the light that surrounds it. The Seamaster 200 was available in a full size version (40 mm w/o crown) official size 8.85 x 38.5 x 43.5 and a midsize (38mm w/o crown) official size 8.7 x 36 x 41. There are some subtle differences in the two sized dials.
