I bought DSSD 126660 DBlue and immediately sold the SD43. The new DSSD is far more comfortable, but not as comfortable as was my Hulk LVc. SD43 is a beautiful watch, very well proportioned. DSSD is a lot more unique to me, and with your wrist size it may actually be more comfortable with the broad caseback dome. Height shouldn't be a problem if you're pushing 8" on the wrist. I also use the external glidelock adjustment multiple times every day, so I am voting DSSD. The 1665 was rated to 2000ft/610m which was roughly three times the rating of [5513] production Submariners (660ft/200m) of the same period. The 1665 model includes the famous "DRSD" or double-red which had the lines Sea-Dweller and Submariner 2000 in red.

Rolex Sea Dweller 4000: Reference 116600 Review. In 2008, Rolex shelved the Sea-Dweller model in favor of a new and much larger Deepsea Sea-Dweller (DSSD) watch. Nevertheless, after six years, the Swiss watchmaking giant decided to bring it back, and at Baselworld 2014 – much to the delight of Rolex fans everywhere – the Sea-Dweller 4000 . I think the SD addressed the DSSD quirks & is overall a more balanced watch - I think for a large wrist its the perfect sports model - and for the ageing eyes the cyclops date is useful - and whilst not traditional SD, is quintessential Rolex. While the most obvious difference is the wider bracelet with its larger folding clasp, overall, the proportions have a more harmonious feel. The bracelet end pieces no longer protrude above the lugs. Another new feature is a tiny Rolex crown placed at the edge of the dial at 6 o’clock between the words “Swiss” and “made.”
